God, Math and Science

Those who have not studied mathematics know that it is not in some sense a science. Mathematics does not study anything, it is not a science like physics or chemistry. Mathematician simply make up rules as Euclid did and prove things from them but the entire discipline is artificial. The nature of proof is to reason about things which are artificial. Mathematicians can prove things logically because they are not constrained by reality.

On the other hand, sciences don’t prove things; they find evidences to support this theories. Sciences like chemistry and physics do not study natural phenomena and from the theories, evidence are developed. For example when scientists found the existence of Higgs Boson they used the 5-sigma “certainty”. They did not find the Higgs Boson but find evidence for it.

When newton propose the theory of gravity,he did not write a proof of it.Things in science are not proven; they are inferred from observation. For example when you consider medical science theory that “the sun causes cancer”.There is no proof but evidently using statistical correlations between cancer rates and exposure, the theory can be asserted.

We allow uncertainty in statistical methods in science, we never get nor expect the proof of the result. However, when we investigate religious matters we expect just the opposite.
Imagine someone walking outside once and saying that their is no proof that the sun causes cancer. That would be considered unscientific yet such arguments are often made against the existence of God. For example someone prays for something, he doesn’t get then despairs and says that God doesn’t exist. When tragedies occur people ask why God could allow evil in the world. This is a faulty proof based on unfounded expectations.

Einstein’s stated “God doesn’t play dice with the world”. Donald Knuth opposed Einstein’s statement by saying “If Einstein’s assertion were true, God would be prohibited from using the most powerful methods”. That God should play dice. Donald Knuth book observes that many of the best computer algorithms make effective use of randomization. It makes perfect sense that God should play dice.

We now can confidently say that no one should question the existence of God simply because God is the beginning and the end. We are just in between and by faith is how we get to understand how the universe came to be.

  1. Can I simply say what a comfort to find someone that actually understands what theyre discussing on the net. You actually realize how to bring a problem to light and make it important. More and more people really need to read this and understand this side of your story. I was surprised that youre not more popular since you definitely possess the gift.

  2. I need to to thank you for this good read!! I definitely loved every little bit of it. I have you book-marked to look at new things you post

  3. Thank you for the wonderful message or post. I totally agree with your message if only people could realize that their is a God look how wonderful the world would be. With scientists everywhere they always divine a different direction when it comes to God its all a sciencetific excuse to me . I have to say long as the ones who believe in the Lord we are all good and pray that one day those scientists will open their eyes and see their is a ONE AND ONLY ONE GOD LIKE YOU SAID IN YOUR MESSAGE HE IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END AND HE IS ALSO THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA ALWAYS AND FOREVER. THANK YOU!!
